Justin Caffrey MSc
Justin Caffrey is a Certified Investment Fund Director and private equity investor with a history of founding, owning, and exiting regulated financial services businesses across Ireland, the UK, the Channel Islands, Switzerland, Australia, and wider Europe. His work has brought him into close alignment with US capital markets and sovereign wealth funds, particularly in transactions requiring discreet capital structuring and turnaround expertise. He serves on the Board of the Charities Institute Ireland and sits on its Finance, Audit and Risk Committee, underlining his governance credentials. Beyond finance, Justin is a long-time horse racing enthusiast, with ownership of champion flat horses and winners at Royal Ascot and the Galway Festival — reflecting his ability to combine passion with performance at the highest level.
James-Paul Galligan
James-Paul Galligan is a Partner at Clark Hill, a leading international law firm with more than 650 lawyers across the United States, Europe, and Mexico. Based in Dublin, James-Paul has over two decades of experience advising boards, shareholders, and senior executives on complex transactions, governance, and regulatory matters. His practice spans Europe and the US, with established connections to US capital markets and sovereign wealth funds, particularly in regulated financial services. Dual-qualified in Ireland and England & Wales, James-Paul combines global legal insight with precise execution in sensitive, high-value transactions. Outside the boardroom, James-Paul is an avid hunter and hiker, pursuits that reflect his discipline, patience, and respect for detail — qualities he brings into his professional practice.
François Golbery — Board Adviser
François Golbery is a Board Adviser to Caffrey & Galligan, where he manages senior investor relationships and supports the firm’s global network of family offices, sovereign wealth funds, and private equity partners. Based in Switzerland, he is Chairman of ESAFON, a non-profit Swiss association and think tank that for over 17 years has advanced impact investing and capital markets innovation.
François has advised regulators, institutional investors, and multinationals on fund structuring, sustainability, and complex transactions, including working with the European Commission on ELTIFs and the Maltese regulator on international positioning. His career spans senior leadership roles across Europe, from transforming IIR France into its most profitable entity to overseeing subsidiaries of TECHNAL International, now part of ALCAN.
He holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Hartford and brings both the authority of a Swiss banker and the passion of a lifelong sailor to his work with Caffrey & Galligan.
